It’s school time again for me, and I thought I’d take a moment to share my goal with all of you: I intend to graduate at the end of this school year!
I am fully aware that I will have done only two years of high school at that point, but I hope to have finished all the work by then. To do that, I will have to do 2 advanced science courses (yikes!) and 2 advanced math courses (double yikes!) to do so. But this is not an impossible goal, and I feel like the more I say it, and the more people I say it to, the more of a possibility it becomes.
I want to finish high school early partly because I just want to be done (and it’s also hard, now that Lana has graduated, to be the only person doing schoolwork everyday).
Also, when I’m done with high school, I want to arrange an extended stay on the mission field in Canada with my godparents who have been there for 6 or 7 years. I explained in a previous post that I wanted to work on the mission field, and this is how I want to do it.
I also think that when I graduate I will be freer to work in the family business as it expands. Lana now has an active part in that and is also studying accounting (though I should let her post about that).
As for music, I’d love to keep up with that for as long as possible. I have been playing piano for 11 years and I love that of course, but I also picked up guitar a couple of weeks ago. I started to do that last year, but I got discouraged because I thought I couldn’t learn on my own. This time I’m a whole lot more determined and more willing to do the research and ask the questions, and I seem to have more resources available for some reason. Anyway, I’m making progress quickly.
I’d also love to pick up graphic arts again. I never got far at ALL when I was doing that, but I absolutely loved it.
At any rate, I am working towards an early graduation namely, because I have a lot of future goals. I will keep you updated on how that goes.
